MemberThe National Volunteer Council (CNV) is a non-profit network of civil society organisations recognised by the government as a valid platform and interlocutor for all entities and people who carry out and promote volunteering in Mozambique. CNV has more than 150 member organisations across the country that work in different sectors but whose missions directly contribute to the promotion of volunteering in Mozambique. Most member organisations are community-based, based on faith and youth. The network is made up of national and international volunteering organisations, with VSO and the Red Cross among the many CNV members.
CNV works for a Mozambican society where volunteering is assumed by everyone as a civic duty and recognised as a driving factor for the country's development, in a favourable and encouraging environment for volunteers. In order to achieve this vision, CNV is active in the following areas:
- Influencing the government and other relevant actors. The most significant result of this effort was the establishment of the Law of Volunteering and its regulation in Mozambique.
- Involving volunteers from all over the country to carry out actions with an impact on development, with emphasis on responses to natural disasters, celebration of IVD and other relevant SDG related dates.
- Supporting member organisations in the implementation of their projects, for example, the identification and mobilisation of volunteers, beneficiaries and other key employees, as well as coordinating with the government.
- Strengthening volunteers’ capability through training opportunities and other support mechanisms.
National Volunteer Council (CNV, Conselho Nacional do Voluntariado) es una red no lucrativa de organizaciones de la sociedad civil reconocida por el gobierno como una plataforma válida y un interlocutor lícito de todas las entidades y las personas que llevan a cabo y promueven el voluntariado en Mozambique. CNV cuenta con más de 150 organizaciones miembros en todo el país que trabajan en diferentes sectores, pero cuyas misiones contribuyen directamente a la promoción del voluntariado en Mozambique. La mayoría de las organizaciones miembros son comunitarias y se basan en la fe y la juventud. La red está constituida por organizaciones nacionales e internacionales de voluntarios, entre las que se encuentran VSO y la Cruz Roja.
CNV trabaja por una sociedad mozambiqueña en la que todo el mundo asuma el voluntariado como un deber cívico y lo reconozca como un factor determinante para el desarrollo del país, en un entorno favorable y estimulante para los voluntarios. A fin de alcanzar su visión, la organización desempeña un papel activo en los siguientes ámbitos:
- Influir en el gobierno y en otros agentes pertinentes. El resultado más significativo de estas acciones fue la instauración de la Ley del Voluntariado y su reglamento en Mozambique.
- Involucrar a voluntarios de todo el país para llevar a cabo actuaciones que repercutan en el desarrollo, haciendo hincapié en las respuestas a los desastres naturales, la celebración del DIV y otras fechas importantes relacionadas con los ODS.
- Apoyar a las organizaciones miembros durante la ejecución de sus proyectos, por ejemplo, con la identificación y la movilización de voluntarios, beneficiarios y otros empleados clave, así como la coordinación con el gobierno.
- Fortalecer la capacidad de los voluntarios a través de oportunidades de formación y otros mecanismos de apoyo.
