Jointly hosted by Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa (YSS)/Student Volunteers Foundation and Forum, the annual conference for International Volunteering Cooperation Organisations (IVCO) was held in Kuala Lumpur from 22-26 October, 2023. Focusing on the theme: A New Generation of Volunteers as Changemakers, IVCO 2023 was an excellent opportunity for heads of volunteer organisations and delegates from public, private, academic and NGO sectors around the world to network, discuss pertinent issues in volunteering, share innovative approaches, and build strong alliances.
The theme for IVCO 2023 will be “A New Generation of Volunteers as Changemakers” with a focus on youth.
The conference will bring together volunteer involving organisations, policymakers, volunteers, and corporates to spark a conversation on providing an enabling environment for new generations of volunteers to flourish and continuously create impact.
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
IVCO is Forum's annual conference that brings together leaders of international volunteering agencies from around the globe in a unique dialogue focusing on the challenges and opportunities currently facing volunteering in development – longstanding and newly emerging. IVCO allows Forum members to learn, exchange ideas and practice innovation, build supportive peer networks, and shape sectoral policy and advocacy initiatives.
Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa (YSS) / Student Volunteers Foundation is hosting the International Volunteers Cooperation Organisations (IVCO) Conference 2023 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in collaboration with the International Forum for Volunteering in Development (Forum) with support from the Malaysian Government.
It has been more than a decade since the last IVCO was hosted in Southeast Asia, which was in Singapore. It is timely as the Forum’s membership expands to diverse groups of volunteer-involving organisations across the globe.
The theme “A New Generation of Volunteers as Changemakers” focuses on the “new generations” in relation to the future of volunteering. It will bring together volunteer-involving organisations, policymakers, volunteers, and the private sector to be engaged in a conversation on providing an enabling environment for new generations of volunteers to flourish and continuously create impact.
