A.V.E.S is a non-governmental organization created in 2001 by plural disciplinary groups of development actors who met to think on the development issues in West Africa, particularly in Togo by creating that basic development structure which is recognized as a national NGO since 2007 by the national authorities.

Its supports and accompanies local communities in the identification and analysis of their development problems analysis through its voluntary commitment. By doing, AVES helps local populations become aware of their living conditions in order to improve their life quality by finding their own available means to respond to these issues. That’s the creation policy of A.V.E.S, which wants to be an organisation of proximity development and one which supports local communities for self-promotion.

Hereby, the aim of AVES is to fight poverty in all its dimensions by improving the basic social services through voluntarism services on some short, middle and long term projects in the field of sustainable development.

AVES works for the social and economic advancement of rural and urban populations through some intervention methods based on pedagogy for adults, youth and children, participatory action research, free and responsible participation of the interested parties in the sustainable transformation of their society and in the health protection of their environment (social, physical, cultural, economic...).

Throughout, its objectives are to (i) contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of the underprivileged, the most vulnerable populations by giving them better access to basic social services and by helping them to meet their basic needs in life, thus reinforcing the idea of sound management of the environment; to (ii) promote cultural exchange and international solidarity by strengthening the voluntary actions of young people to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals; to (iii) facilitate the sharing of information, ideas, experiences and resources between other development structures; to (iv) strengthen skills and capacity in community and participatory development; to (v) contribute to the strengthening of the capacity of the population in self-promotion through the realisation of socio-community projects; and to (vi) raise awareness of citizenship (children's rights, women's rights, social assistance...) in order to become real actors in the development process at the grassroots.
