The Coming Home Book For returned overseas volunteers, development workers, humanitarian workers and missionaries

The Coming Home Book for volunteer sending agencies is an EU-sponsored resource developed as part of the EU project ‘Back to the Future’. The 150-page training manual outlines numerous diverse activities to deliver with returning volunteers, to support them as they return to their home country and encourage their next steps towards continuous engagement. The manual outlines some of the challenges and issues returnees face, situating the coming home experience within the wider volunteer experience. It discusses how to use the rich experiences gained overseas to inform change making and continuous engagement in development.
