Diaspora Volunteering A Comhlámh Discussion Paper

This paper outlines the benefits of involving diaspora communities in international volunteering from Ireland. It uses data on this form of volunteering emerging from Comhlámh’s surveys of volunteer sending agencies in 2012 and 2013. The paper outlines examples of diaspora volunteering programs and also barriers and challenges to diaspora communities taking part in international volunteering.
