Forum Research 2010 Emerging Perspectives on International Volunteerism in Asia

Dr Margaret Sherradan’s research, publishing, and teaching activities focus on access and equity in domestic and international social policies, social and economic development, asset building and financial education, immigration and health, and global social policies. Dr Margaret Sherraden is one of the two professors presenting on the Forum Research Paper, “Emerging Perspectives on International Volunteerism in Asia”.

Dr Caroline Brassard, talks about how her search team mapped out the current trends and challenges of international volunteer service (IVS) in Asia through online surveys of volunteer sending agencies as well as case studies of Asian countries. She also explains how they use this information to provide evidence for an informed discussion on the way forward for international volunteer service in Asia.
