What behavioral attitudes of mothers are transmitted to daughters?

In April 2018, the brand of toys Baby Alive and the famous child psychologist Larisa Surkova conducted an experiment on Instagram with the participation of star moms and popular bloggers. Thanks to watching mother daughter games with interactive dolls, Baby Alive was able to analyze the behaviors that daughters adopt from their mothers. According to the family and children’s psychologist Larisa Surkova, a woman both consciously and unconsciously broadcasts to her daughter the main behavioral models: attitude towards the child, the child’s father, herself and the world around her. Focusing on the behavior of her mother, a girl at an early age begins to form a scenario of her own future motherhood. And mom tries to show her daughter the most correct and useful example – and often worries that she is not doing well enough. But how do children actually perceive adults and what do they borrow from them? It is difficult to evaluate this from the perspective of a parent. Need a view from the side, or rather, a look through the eyes of your own child. The influence of maternal attitudes can be clearly revealed during the game of mother-daughter. Caring for the dolls and educating them, the girl becomes a real mirror, and it’s enough for mom to carefully look into the reflection of herself in order to see her behavior in a new way and understand what is worth adjusting in it. To identify the most common behavioral patterns transmitted to mothers from girls, Baby Alive conducted a psychological experiment. More than 35 popular mothers, including Agatha Priluchnaya, Tatyana Rodionova, and singer Maxim, watched their children play in their daughters and mothers and shared conclusions with subscribers. To get the most visual and indicative results, the games of the little participants in the project were as close as possible to reality. Interactive dolls Baby Alive “Baby at the doctor” and “Baby and noodles”, which are very similar to real babies, were able to help with this: they can speak and cry, open and close their eyes, change facial expressions, eat and drink from a bottle. Family and child psychologist Larisa Surkova comments: “In a game of life with her“ children ”dolls, the girl reflects either the real or the desired behavior of her own mother. The game often contains educational elements borrowed from parents, for example: praise, encouragement, punishment. Mom’s attitude towards dad and herself is usually also manifested. If the mother constantly “goes to work” in the game, that means the girl is bored and copies the approach to the world around, in this case, to work. I recommend that parents carefully watch the game of mother and daughter – this will help to notice and solve problems in the family and relationships with children on time. ”
