Touch room as one of the methods of healing children and adults (part 1)

Caring for health, high performance, the development of the hidden creative potential of every person of any age in the modern world is becoming more and more technological.

“Man was born for happiness, like a bird for flight” – has not been a metaphor for a long time. Having deeply studied the biological basis of the issue, and above all, the effect on those brain structures that provide us with a good mood and a sense of fullness of life, doctors learned how to influence the biochemical processes of the brain. For example, if you harmonize the exchange of neurotransmitters (dopamine, serotonin, norepinephrine) and the properties of receptors that are part of the brain’s satisfaction system, then a person ceases to be subject to sudden mood swings, a strong craving for alcohol, food, tobacco and drugs. But for self-affirmation, for a successful and happy realization of a person in society, something much more is needed than antidepressants. Until now, the minds of many scientists are busy with the problem of achieving these goals without the use of medicines. Society urgently needs non-drug methods of restoring and enhancing human performance and creative activity. The pharmacological effect is associated with a mass of undesirable side effects and is often accompanied by an intractable dependence of the body on the drugs used, an imbalance of all its life support systems.

Times have changed, people have changed, the load on the psyche has taken a different form. And if before they fought with the effects of monotony, nowadays rare professions can be called monotonous, mainly due to the shift in the number of working specialties in the intellectual sphere. The average manager during the working day deals with so much information that was previously stretched for a month. In addition, and after hours, a huge amount of unnecessary information is poured onto a person. Every year, the intensity and saturation of the information flow increases – color TVs and monitors, the Internet, color, light and psychological techniques used in advertising, players and mobile phones.

Sensory rooms were developed in Holland in the late 70s, where the idea of artificial stimulation of sensory perception was born. Sensory rooms were used by rehabilitologists and social workers to work with the most difficult group of patients with a neuropsychiatric profile and a gross decline in intelligence. In the early 80s, besides the Netherlands, the UK became one of the most active users of touch rooms. The range of patients has expanded: rooms have been actively used in the treatment of patients with deviant behavior, children with various mental disorders, etc. Of course, the sensory rooms of psychological relief and the methods used in such places are changing. The main goal of the methods used in sensory rooms is mental and mental relaxation. In this case, the basis of the sensory room of psychological relief is light, since more than 90% of the information a person receives through his eyes, and it is through the influence of special light that you can achieve the most complete relaxation, psychological relief and restoration of human strength.

Light is a natural, most effective factor in influencing a person, it can serve as a universal means of treatment and correction of impaired functions, since it helps the body mobilize its defenses and restore a genetically predetermined state of human health. However, the COLOR OF LIGHT is also important. So light of a certain color acts immediately on the physical and psychological levels, harmonizes a person’s state, helps create a feeling of comfort and confidence, gives strength, and heals. The emotional problems and difficulties of volitional self-control are a tangible problem for children and adolescents. And how is this most often manifested? Of course, screaming, crying. So besides COLOR and LIGHT, SOUND is still important.

The advantages of this method include a deep and lasting effect with the external superficiality of the level of psychological study, the ability to use the basic relaxation skill for many purposes: removing phobic reactions to life situations, better control of impulsivity, psychoprophylaxis of vegetative-vascular dystonia and psychosomatic disorders. In this direction, there are numerous developments that have proven their usefulness. The effectiveness of auto-training in the correction of anxiety-depressive states and overwork is estimated as reaching 80% success. It is also extremely advisable to conduct classes on the training of psychomuscular self-regulation in a special sensory room
